Holiday Joy Sign

You know me! I like to use the materials I already have on hand. This was a fence board I had cut in 1/2 to use for a lemonade stand I made, so I decided to whip it out and use it for this fun holiday project! Using my saw, I made this easy but beautiful sign for my holiday buffet.

All you'll need is three boards. Because I used a scrap fence board, I had it easy- they are already put together!

I grabbed some letters at Michaels the craft store (these are large ones with a fancy font and are a little pricey at $5 each) but I only needed 2 the J, and Y as I'm going to do a wreath for my O.

I found this nice small wreath at the dollar tree it's perfect for the O in my word JOY. I'll embellish my wreath and letters with some picks that I also found at the dollar tree.

I wanted the new fence board to have an aged look, so I decided to paint it to give it that look. I just grabbed some random paint cans that I had around the house and using black, and a couple browns, I sprayed it (you can do this randomly). When that was dry I dry brushed white over the board as you can see now it has that old wood look and not so new!

These are the picks I picked up to add on the wreath. I also added some buffalo check ribbon being that it is super trending for the holidays this year.

I just needed my nail gun, I was worried I'd crack the letters, but it worked perfectly with no problems.

I just centered to the board and spaced the way I liked it all and nailed it down.

Look how great it came out and the nailer only left a small whole in the letters, I didn't even have to use glue!

I placed it on my buffet, but if you add a hook you could hang anywhere, even outdoors.

What do you all think of this simple JOY project? Is it something you'd add to your holiday décor? I hope so and it’s an easy project and again didn't require any tools. Have the hardware store cut the fence boards and if you don't have a nail gun then just glue them down. This project anyone can do. Happy Crafting!
