How to Make an Evergreen Swag for Christmas

Change up your front door decoration with this evergreen swag for Christmas.

Grab a few items from your Christmas stash and follow this tutorial to make your own swag.

I have bins of Christmas items in my basement and enjoy creating new pieces with all these supplies. I grabbed the following to create this evergreen swag. It's a nice alternative to a traditional Christmas wreath.

  • Evergreen branches. I used faux pieces I have had for years, you could also use real.
  • Sparkly red branch
  • Tiny gold ornaments
  • Burlap wired ribbon made into a bow
  • Jute
  • Floral wire

Cut a piece of floral wire and tie the ends of the glittery branches together.

Next, layer the glittery branches on top of the evergreen branches and arrange them until you are happy with the placement.

Wrap jute around the ends to tie them together and finish off the ends to they look nice and don't scratch your door.

String floral wire through the ornaments and attach them to the greenery.

Finally add a bow to the top and this evergreen sway is done!

These bows are easy to make by looping wired ribbon together and tying it off in the middle. I used floral wire to attach the bow to the sway.

This piece makes a great door hanger, or as an accent on a Christmas mantle.
