How to Make Your Stair Railing Into a Sledding Hill…
For stuffed animals! I saw this on Pinterest years ago and I’ve always wanted to recreate it. I used two packages of packages of Buffalo Snow. One package had glittery tinsel and one was plain. Both were 70% off and came in at about $2 each at Joann’s. One package of 11 inch zip ties and an assortment of small stuffed animals. **This is a project that isn't for everyone. If it's not for you, just keep scrolling. 😊**
I put some lights on the railing but it looked kind of blah. I could have added the holiday favorite of garland but I decided to do something different.
I gathered my supplies. I bought a bunch of stuffed animals because I couldn’t decide and they were all so cute.
I unrolled the plain snow first.
It went about halfway up so I split it right down the middle to do the whole railing.
I found it was easier for me to tear it than to try to cut it.
I kind of shaped it around the curve at the bottom.
Gave a little polar bear a test ride.
I secured the snow with a zip tie. The bear is just sitting there, he isn’t attached.
I snipped the extra zip tie off.
I put the glittery snow on top and repeated the process
I added the stuffed toys with circle Velcro dots.
I am testing the lights to see if they get hot because then I will have to remove them.
Anyone else like something different once in a while or are you a straight traditional person? Christmas decor should be the same every year.
Happy Holidays!
Part of me wonders if I have created a new tradition, if my kids will want me to make this every year.
I am very pleased with how it turned out.
The unicorn is from Walmart but the rest are from Michaels. Does the unicorn not belong?
I think it is the right amount of fun.
I only intended to use 4 stuffed animals and yet here we are.
If the edges are too straight and harsh, you can gently pull here and there and it looks more snow like.
Would you do this easy fun project?
I found some pinecones and evergreen picks to add. Do you like it better with or without the pinecones and greenery?
Enjoyed the project?

I too don’t have a staircase but I have placed “snow” onto the branches of an old faux xmas tree that showed waaay too much center pole showing. I’ve collected stuffed woodland creatures and placed them here and there. Whimsical! My grandkids love it because they can play with the stuffed animals and place them back on the tree boughs. It’s touchable and brings a smile to anyone who sees it.

Have a question about this project?
Adorable but not safe. How do you hold/grab the railing?
Where did you get the treble clef at the top of the stairs? We have a professional musician in the family (harp & piano) and I have never seen anything like that.
