Are you ready to cozy up your walls with some planked winter art?
Deer silhouettes on planked gray and white board make a nice large scale art piece for your wall. This art is light and easy to hang because the fence pickets are only 3/8" thick. You can find all of the details about the boards and pattern on my blog.
The entire piece is 14.5" x 52". It is washed with a brown base and top coated in gray and white.
It will make a fun winter welcome in your home.

    Hi,

What kind of stains / paints are you using so they dont soak into the wood bleading into one another, or are you sealing the wood with something else first and if so, what?

Hi! First I use a brown wash on the boards . 1/2 brown paint plus 1/2 water. Mix. Brush over all sides of boards. Let dry. You could use brown stain but it just takes much longer to dry. Then using a light chip brush, brush on gray and white. Dip one side of your brush in gray and the other side in white brushing and blending. Lift your brush before you get to the edge to leave some rustic brown. . You can always lightly brush brown back onto the gray. I think the key is the chip brush/ one of those cheap cream bristle brushes.

Hope you have a great project!
