Are you re-potting your plant?
If so, gently run water over the roots to loosen and remove the soil that is entrapped there, never blast a stream of water, it could damage the roots plus make a huge mess. Then replant your Christmas cactus' roots 1"-2" below the soil.

Yes.
Hi Jeannie, as long as the pot didn't contain something poisonous or harmful, then yes you can plant your Christmas cactus inside without washing first
If you're not sure what was in it before, I would clean it. Here's a link:

Why would you have to wash it? I don't like clay pots because they hold moisture that the plant should be getting and you have to water more often.
I guess it depends on what was in the pot before. If there was something that could be harmful to the cactus then I would gently clean it out...if not, then you're good to go.
yes you can
Yes you can, unless their was something poisonous in the pot prior, and that seems unlikely.
sure! But what was in the pot or on the plant? Is there a reason to wash it?
Yes you can but what was in the pot before? If it was something gross or sickly you need to clean the pot.
But I have found it easier to wash items before storing away for the winter. Hot soapy water is good. You should also give you gardening equipment a wash down also.
It is always good to wash a used pot out to get rid of bacteria.
I would give the pot a washing out before planting your Christmas cactus, especially if you are unsure what was in the pot before.
It would depend on what was previously in the pot but in general yes.
That would depend on what was in the pot before. Well, If there was something which may harm the plant then it is best to clean it out. And there aren't, its good to go.
