How do I make an easy Christmas tree skirt?

I have a 4 ft tree and a small whiskey barrel is the base. I also have a 42 inch round white tablecloth that I would like to use as the skirt. What is the best way to make a skirt without sewing for this little tree? Thank you!

I Use tablecloths all the time , I just gather it around, let it be puffy.

You can get fabric paint or glue on trinkets. You can even write on with felt markers (just make sure card board is under when doing as it bleeds through) . Have fun with it .
Fold it in half & drape it around the tree with the folded edge around trunk use a stapler or clothespin,or office clip to keep it together especially if you have pets.
