How do you make a christmas village stand out of an old wooden ladder?

    put your larger pieces on the bottom step, and move gradually up the ladder to the top with your smallest pieces; wrap support 'legs' with fairy lights -colored or warm white; don't put too much 'cotton' snow on the steps -- show case your pieces ... I' like the real 'cotton' batting sold in sheets as 'snow' rather than white fiberfill ... that has a tendency to poke up in front of your little houses, trees, people, etc. you can use a bit of 'snow' glitter on the tops of the folds in the cotton batting to high light them; put battery operated Votive candles inside some of the buildings if they are not lighted -- and have open windows/doors.

    You could use 2 ladders and lay boards across, then display your village on the boards. Some people collect the villages and have 3 or 4 boards going across the ladders. Then when the holidays are over they put the boards and ladders away and they have other uses the rest of the year when the village is packed away.

    Thanks to all that answered.....I have my old wooden step ladder, and am planning to work on it in the next week for so.....will have that instead of a Christmas Tree!
