How do I make the cross Christmas tree?

Susie, there are numerous plans for building Christmas trees. On this site, look under Celebrations, Holidays, and wooden Christmas trees. But I would like to tell you about a cross-based tree we made one year. I found some scrap lumber by a dumpster and brought it home. We didn’t even own a saw! One piece was about two feet long, one was three feet, and the other was a one-cubic-foot block with a deep groove down one side. My preacher’s wife eyes immediately saw a cross. The longer board stood upright in the groove. Hubbie nailed the shorter board across the taller, a little less than a foot from the top, and put a couple of nails to stabilize the upright board in the groove. I found some old white paint in a storage room at the back of the church, and used a clean stick from the ground to stir the really thick paint. I used the only paint brush around—time-hardened with white paint and a rusty handle. It covered every inch of the cross, plus about the same area of ground underneath. We used that in the Easter service and a few others. That Christmas, I gathered a bunch of pine branches and thumbtacked them to the cross in the shape of a Christmas tree. A member of the church brought a nativity scene to sit in front of the cross tree, and a hooded light that fit in the top of the tree. My real point is: if I could make a cross-based Christmas tree with the materials I had, you know you can make one. Merry Christmas, ☺️
