How about a tree made from hangers?

    Use battery operated lights.

There are several projects here that you might want to do:

Or hit up the Dollar Store for a small tree that is inexpensive and decorate from there as well.

Mine measures 8X8 and about 18 tall. Made from clothes racks and tinsel.

You will need 3 wire racks, A string of 40-50 mini lights.(or 2 sets of dollar store 20 in set) 40-50 feet of tinsel. I DO NOT recommend the dollar tree tinsel...too thin for my taste. And a pack of zip ties.

Set up racks in tri-pod with hooks facing into middle. Use zip ties to secure.

Starting at bottom with plug end wind the lights around and tie onto racks. Use last light at top of tree. Cut off excess zip tie.

Do the same with tinsel getting zip in between pieces of tinsel to hide.

Try to pull lights so they will show through the tinsel without showing too much electric cord. Kind of fluff up.

You may be able to add a few bows or small ornaments and make a star top with silver or gold colored wire.

    Test and adjust as needed.
