The Dollar Tree store is your best friend. You can get socks, picture frames, and trial sized personal items. You can make small Christmas decor, candy and cookies, bookmarkers, cords for key rings.

There are so many ideas out there! How much do you want to spend and how much time do you want to spend making them? For men and women or generic? Edible or non -edible? Useful or just decorative? Religious affiliations? So many things to consider? I need a better idea of what exactly you're looking for. I was an activities assistant at a nursing home so I understand your dilemma. Please let me know.

Among other small gifts, try adding those individual packets of moist glasses cleaner to a small brown bag.

Use large butterfly paperclip. Tie ribbon around clip so when you hold it up you can see wings. Thread pearl through ribbon from top, tie knot, tie 2nd knot at end of ribbon and can be hung on tree as ornament or hung on something in their room.

If you don't mind a little DIYing you can make homemade lip balm really inexpensively. I'm giving out forty of them to my family and friends this year and the batch only cost me about $10 to make :)

Paint spring clothes pins brown. When dry glue 2 small eyes to the clipping end and a small red pompom for his nose. Twist a brown pipe cleaner into two antlers, wrapping around the clip end when it’s “open”.

It depends on how much you want to spend. Even if it's just $1 per person that would be $200.

I don't know if you would consider something other than an individual gift to each person. Maybe a raffle where everyone gets a numbered ticket and then there's a drawing for monetary prizes. That would create a little fun and excitement among the residents. Then everyone else would get small usable gifts like holiday Kleenex packs.

I applaud your sentiments and thoughtfulness.

First of all, you are wonderful to think of the forgotten. When making a gift, please remember, some people are allergic to certain smells or types of food. They also don't have a lot of extra room in senior housing. I'd find a positive poem for and about the elderly and have it copied on holiday paper.
