I'm sharing how to create vintage Santa wood slices to hang on a store bought beaded garland. You can hang this on your Christmas tree as I did, or add to your mantel or shelves or a hutch.

I'm Cindy, I blog at DIY Beautify where I'm passionate about sharing budget-friendly crafts and DIYs that will beautify your home! I would love to have you follow along icon

Here are the supplies you'll need:

  1. wood slices (we cut ours from a fallen branch, but you can purchase them online)
  2. paper printable Santas (you can get the free printable that I've created on my blog post here
  3. white paint
  4. foam brushes
  5. decoupage medium
  6. store bought beaded garland

Paint wood slices with two coats of white chalk paint. Leave about 1/4" border.

Print and cut out vintage Santa faces from copy paper, leaving a small border. Apply to wood slices with a little decoupage medium (Mod Podge).

Brush a thin coat of decoupage medium over Santa image to provide a protective coat.

Drill a small hole in the top of each wood slice and thread with bakers twine or string.

Tie wood slices onto store bought garland and hang on tree or from mantel or wherever you choose you display it! This sweet Santa garland was an inexpensive addition to my red and white Santa tree this year!

Don't forget, you can grab a free PDF printable of the Santa faces I used at my blog www.diybeautify.com.
