Ribbon Cone Tree

I have fallen in love with those little cone trees you can find all over the internet for Christmas. They are so versatile and can be used in most any decor in a number of ways.
This one is made with ribbon and has to be the easiest one to make. Plus it can be customized to any decor by using different ribbon patterns.
First fold your ribbon in half length wise and glue the open ends together. Then make little slits in it about every half inch.
Next you simple start gluing your ribbon onto your tree form. You can use whatever type of form you like. I make my own from poster board and you can find the directions on my blog. Some people prefer to use a styrofoam tree form. Some people use cardstock, some cereal boxes. Like I said it's all in what you prefer.
Next glue the second row right above the first row so that the loops of the first row show well. Continue all the way up the tree to the top.
For the top just cut a couple of strips and glue them in an "x" shape. Then just glue to the top to drape down over the last row. You will find more tips and instructions on my blog.
These trees are so cute - you can sit them on candlesticks to give them "trunks" and height or just sit them on the tabletop alone. Group them in groups.
Or place them in vignettes. These are made with burlap ribbon in the same manner.
