Upcycled Silver Winter Wonderland

I like to save shiny trash and to be honest trash in general. Well lets be clear, trash that I can use as crafting material. For this project I used some empty pie tins, some plastic silver foil from chip bags ets, some pop can pull tabs and some other recyclable items to create this little silver winter scene.

During construction one of our cats was a little too interested in the project but since it's completion only the sledders and their toboggans have suffered any ill effects from the cats. On a couple of occasions I have found them on the floor no doubt with the help of a furry paw push.

The good news it that non of it is really breakable so it is pretty pet friendly. Still, our preference would be complete separation of pets and Christmas displays but of course in our house this is just wishful thinking. :-)

The trees are made from the pie tin edges wrapped and glued to a cardboard cone. The I shaped the star and the angle tree toppers from some pie tin scraps.

The stick figures and their toboggans are also made from pie tin scarps. I used some needle nose pliers and glue to form and secure the pieces.

The stars are made from silver chip bag foil and card stock weight paper.

I added some LED lights to the back to give them a glow in the dark.

And lastly the house is made from a cardboard pretzel box covered with plastic food wrapper foil and decorated with more pie tin scrapes and some pull tabs.

You can see how it all went together in the attached video.

Thanks for taking a look at my project. I hope you enjoy recycling and upcycling as much as I do. If you would like more upcycling project DIY's or Green Product Reviews you can subscribe to my   Youtube Channel here or the   Upcycle Design Lab blog here.
