Vintage Jack Stand Christmas Lantern

3 Materials

What do you do when you have just ONE vintage jack stand...that's missing the actual jack? Turn it into a four-sided Christmas lantern, of course.

So this is what I started with- a challenge from a friend: Take this vintage camper jack stand from my barn, and repurpose it into something cool.
Challenge accepted! With that Christmas tree shape, I knew it'd be a December project. So I gave it a bright coat of green paint...
And then I looked through my stash of vintage Christmas gift wrap and created "panels" for each side of the jack stand.

I cut out triangle patterns from four different gift wrap scraps, laminated them using double-sided laminating paper...
And carefully attached them to the inside of my painted jack stand with glue. Ta-da, a four-sided lantern!
And you know what? It's even prettier at night- plus each side is different (but coordinated).

How awesome is that! The perfect "tree" for a small space, and looks different from every angle.
Isn't that so cool? Well, I think so- and it would be a great little "tree" for a small space, like an apartment, boat, or tiny house. Merry Christmas!
