DIY Cake Stand With a Mortar
I love this handmade wood cake stand. It is a very easy DIY and I hope that you may want to give it a try!
There are only a number of easy steps for this craft. You first need to decide what size stand you want to make.
These wood / mdf circles are available all sizes at online, hardware stores or hobby shops so you just need to decide what you need for your craft. You may alternatively use a wooden tray or a plate.
Start your craft by gathering your materials. I used my old wooden mortar but you may well use any wooden material that would work for this craft, a candlestick for instance.
So, how I did it:) I grabbed my old wooden mortar and a thick circle mdf and used fast adhesive to form the shape of my cake stand. You may also use wood adhesive, ı do not suggest hot silicone.
I wanted a textured look rather than a plain one for my stand. So, I mixed white colored multisurface paint with ground coffee.
And I mixed them really well.
My mixture was looking like this. The coffee gave the paint a nice beige color and a nice texture.
Then, I painted my cake stand with this mixture.
The texture is just like that. I really love this look. Also, it hides any imperfections ;)
All done! So easy and beautiful.
Now time to decorate your handmade stand and admire your craft:)
