DIY Decorative Autumn Tray

Hello! Today I have a simple Fall craft for you all. I took a buildable wall art kit and turned it into an Autumn tray.

Materials needed

-Wood wall art kit. This kit was perfect, the frame is actually deep enough to act as a tray. I purchased this for $3 at Target

-1 Wreath kit This is optional, but I wanted the felt leaves out of this kit for my project. Also purchased it at Target for $3. I'll use what is left from this kit to create another project soon.

-2 Clay foxes I thought these would be perfect as a display on my tray. Purchased at Target for $1 each

-1 Clay pumpkin purchased at Target for $1

-1 Hello Fall sign This was included in my wall art kit

Other materialsPaint hot glue optional pumpkins

Total spent $10

Keep in mind that you can find similar materials at any craft store. But if you want this same look my materials are all from Target.

Creating your tray

Start off with painting your tray. I chose to blend red, with a little gold paint. It will take about 2-3 coats of paint. Allow your tray to completely dry. While your tray is drying, start painting your foxes, and pumpkins. I mixed some brown with orange for my foxes. For the inner ears, and tail I used orange paint, and for the nose, I applied a darker pink.

For my pumpkin, I used an orange mixed with some gold. Allow your clay decorations to fully dry.

Take your Hello Fall sign, and apply paint. I used a yellow paint color.

Next, take your felt leaves, and glue them to your tray. I chose to layer my leaves. After, I took my pumpkins and glued them on top.

Now you're ready to place your decorations inside of your tray. You're all done! All that is left is to display your Autumn tray.
