Painted Mud Cloth Easter Eggs

You guys know I love color and rainbows, but there's something sophisticated and classy about black and white. I decided to make some mud cloth Easter eggs to add to my home décor and I'm so glad I did. I love how they turned out and will probably end up making more.

I've had these pastel eggs for years. They are pretty large and I knew they would be perfect for this project. If you can find black Easter eggs at the craft store, those will work, otherwise just paint your eggs. You can use wood, Styrofoam or paper mache eggs for this.

Black craft paint worked perfect. I painted two coats on my eggs letting them dry completely in between.

Use white craft paint to start adding patterns to your eggs. You can search online for mud cloth patterns if you need inspiration. You can also use a white chalk paint marker for this part.

Place your egg in a cup to dry.

When your eggs are dry completely, you can place them in a basket or bowl to display in your home.

I love how these turned out... I showed my son when he got home from school and he said "they look expensive" icon

I'll take that as a good sign.

That's awesome Dorothy! I hope they have fun making them and if you want to share photos when they are finished, I'd love to see them.

We are doing the same here in Colorado... pretty crazy time right now!
