Shabby Chic Plaster Easter Eggs

I found some inexpensive plaster eggs at the dollar store as part of a painting craft kit. Instead of using the paints, I used some of my own craft supplies to give them a more neutral shabby-chic look and re-use them in my Easter decor year after year.
If pastels, bunnies and chicks aren't your style for Easter crafts and decor, you can achieve this look very easily and inexpensively.
This is what was in the original craft kit. I stashed the paints and brushes into craft storage to be used another time.
Instead I used some jute twine, floral stems and white glue to embellish the plain plaster eggs. I kept the wire hanger at the top (in case I decide to hang up the eggs sometime) but removed the neon green thread they came with.
A little Spanish moss inside an etched glass bowl makes a pretty place to display the eggs for the whole spring season. See how it looks as part of our family room decor http://bit.ly/1Beo04D
