Farmhouse Kitchen Tray DIY

Kitchen trays are very trendy right now, but they can be a bummer for the budget. I'm showing you how to turn a couple of Goodwill finds into a trendy farmhouse piece that your family and friends will rave about!

These two pieces don't go together at all, but they will after a little TLC. It was a snowman metal tray and a chunky wooden candle holder.

The first thing I did was paint both pieces with inexpensive white acrylic paint. I used a roller to give the surface of the tray a textured look and feel. Plus, using the roller didn't leave any unsightly streaks. I had to paint a few layers to cover the image that was on the metal, but it ended up covering nicely.

After the tray was painted, I added burlap around the edges because there were 3D snowflakes that I needed to hide. This was the perfect solution, because it was going to be a farmhouse piece, and we all know that burlap screams farmhouse! ;)

After both pieces were painted and prepped, I glued them together using E6000 glue. I let it sit overnight before placing it into my decor! It was hard to wait, because it turned out amazing!

Look!! How cute is this?! Maybe you have similar pieces that you could transform into a farmhouse tray! I hope this inspires you to think outside of the box! Please let us know what you think!
