One of my biggest passions in life is reading! So, I wanted to incorporate my love of books into my decor without screaming "BOOKS." I decided to make a garland with pages, that is both versatile and trendy!

Step One: Materials

You'll need a book, twine or string, scissors, and tape to get started!

Step Two

Cut your string or twine to length. You can make this as long or as short as you want! I suggest finding the place you want to hang this finished product, and make it for that space!

Step Three

Rip out some pages! Full disclosure: ruining books hurts my soul, so I purchased a new copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The amount of pages you need will be determined on how long you make this garland.

Step Four

Fold one page in half and make cuts depending on how large or small you want the "wings" to be. Use this as your guide.

Step Five

Using your guide, cut the rest of the pages to match.

Step Six

Tie knots about a foot from the end of your rope. You'll want to have enough excess to hang this garland.

Step Seven

Open the page fully. Put the twine inside of the page. Fold the page in half, with the twine inside of the page. Tape in place like so. The further up you tape, the more the pages will stay in place on your garland. You also have the option to tape the "wings" together, however for this project, I did not.

Step Eight

Hang and enjoy! I used this on my living room mantle for a lite extra flair, and I love it!
