Style any room in your home with beautiful wood bead garland. Here is an easy and inexpensive tutorial to making wood bead garland with tassels yourself!

It’s no secret that I love farmhouse styled items to fill my home with. From old repurposed mirrors to build it yourself barn doors and wooden blanket ladders for larger pieces to more decor styled pieces like fabric pumpkins to coffee filter wreaths and rag wreaths. Finding simple and inexpensive ways to add character and charm to my home are always on my top list of priorities…and if I can make it, then the better!

I love wood bead garland but I can never find while I’m out shopping, so I had to take matters into my own hands…and make it myself!

Supplies Needed:

Stringing The Beads

String the wooden beads in any order you prefer. You can order wood beads in so many different sizes and shapes. Continue until you have reached your desired length.

Making The Tassels

Wrap the jute around your hand like so for 40-50 times.

Once you’ve completed the wrapping, cut the jute from the roll. Cut another piece of jute about 12″ and wrap it around one end then tie it off. Cut one end of the loops to give it the tassel look.

Tie it to the ends of your strands of beads and have fun decorating!

I love the look that the wooden beads provide! They help fill the awkward space void in so many areas! They also help add dimension which can be really tricky to do because a lot of items are flat or have straight lines.
