How do I hang something heavy above my fireplace?

I have a Fire place with a sort of block at the center top (like a Greek key but solid). There is the tiniest of space above it - enough to put a wire hanger on which I already have there with the hook facing downward. This allows me to hang a not-too-heavy wreath. Since I leave the hanger there all the time, anyone coming in always asks me "why do you have a hanger there?". The reason I leave it there is because it is 11-1/2 feet up and would require my dragging out the 10 ft ladder every time I need to put up something. While the wire hanger works, it is only so strong and I have an antique, round mirror I'd like to hang there. Is there something out there which is super strong yet relatively thin and could support something heavy, like a mirror? I cannot drill anything into the upper portion of the FP as it would destroy the design which I do not want to do. Any suggestions?

there are hangers that work on brick ledges. they are thin and strong. may work for this.

If you are always going to have a mirror there, why not drill a wall anchor in place? Will always be behind something.

Thank you but the mirror will not always be there as I switch out holiday decorations all year long.

Maybe Since the wire is already working just use a much stronger thicker gauge type of wire. (the lower the gauge on the wire the thicker meaning 10 gauge is much thicker than 20 & so on) Baling wire is thin yet super strong.

guess you would have to go to the hardware store or online and ask. don't know a specific name for these. sorry. have seen them in ads.
