Create A DIY Bone Inlay Painted Mirror

We can all agree that bone inlay furniture is gorgeous but the hefty price tag that comes attached to it is not. If you've been daydreaming about owning your own beautiful bone inlay piece of furniture then we have the perfect DIY project for you. Stencils are an easy and inexpensive way to create that designer look you've been lusting after.
Today we're sharing a DIY bone inlay mirror that was created using our Indian Inlay Stencil Kit.
We'd like you to welcome back Shelley, the decorator and amazing DIYer behind the blog Crazy Wonderful. Shelley is in the process of updating her daughter's bedroom. She had recently repainted a dresser that had been used as a changing table when her kids were young. The dresser looked great with a fresh coat of paint but it now needed a mirror. Shelley had a plain sheet of mirror laying around that would be perfect for this DIY project.

Before we continue do you remember the Indian Inlay stenciled mirror that she had previously stenciled. It's so gorgeous!
Well Shelley is once again completing stunning DIY projects using our stencils. For this project, she planned to reuse her Indian Inlay Stencil Kit to create a one-of-a-kind mirror for her daughter. To kick it off, Shelley gathered her materials. For the detailed steps on how she built her mirror, please check out the tutorial on her blog, Crazy Wonderful. Here is her wooden mirror frame that has been primed.
Shelley then painted the mirror a soothing gray hue using Martha Stewart's Zinc.
Then she was ready for the fun part, stenciling! Shelley used the Indian Inlay Stencil Kit to recreate a bone inlay look on the mirror. She carefully taped the stencil down using blue painter's tape and painted the pattern in white using a stencil brush.
Are you ready to see how it all turned out? Here is Shelley's DIY bone inlay stenciled mirror.
