As a family we love hunting for pieces of sea glass when visiting the beach. Some beaches have hardly any, others have a few. But the question is always what to make with the sea glass?

I’ve the years we have made sea glass bowl, sea glass Christmas decorations and jewellery. Today we decided to redo a mirror frame.

Firstly we removed the beach themed objects, using a chisel they were gently prised off the frame.

Next up to prepare the base by cleaning then adding a fresh coat of white chalk paint.

Once this is dry it’s time for the fun part, selecting and arranging the sea glass. We used gorilla glue to glue the sea glass to the mirror frame. You have two choices fill the frame and then glue once you are happy with your composition or trust your instinct and glue as you go!

Once the sea glass was finished we decided to knock back the outer edge blue frame to a plate colour, using white chalk paint. With a fairly dry paint brush we brushed around the top outer frame.

I am pleased with the finished result. If you would like further details check out my diy how to.
