Packing Tape Image Transfer and DIY Clear Labels
Here's a really cool image transfer technique on how to turn packing tape into great looking clear labels and stickers!

After I published this on my blog, I got lots of great questions such as " Can you use it for color images?" "Why is my sticker cloudy or not sticking?" I will share at the end some super helpful tips and tricks!
There are so many great uses for these stickers! You can use them as candle jar decor, pantry labels, etc. They look great on glass, wood, metal and many other materials!
This method is different from the method I used to transfer images onto wooden crates. You can check out the technique on making your own beautiful crates easily by clicking HERE!
Step one: Print images on paper. Take into consideration the width of the tape. I will show you a trick at the end on how to make larger labels!
Take a piece of packing tape, press the sticky side onto an image, center the packing tape over it evenly and press. Here's a REALLY IMPORTANT part of the image transfer process: burnish the piece using the back of a spoon and make sure to cover all the printed areas.
Drop the piece into a bowl of room temp water. Let them soak for at least 5 minutes. Peel off the paper, and the ink image is now embedded into the tape!

I have tried this hack and it does not work. I have used packing tape, burnished with back of spoon. I have an ink jet printer. Room temperature water and nothing stays on the packing tape. Very disappointed as I was very excited. Maybe it’s the packing tape

I know others have asked this but I don't see an answer. How do you affix the label to the jar? Is it still sticky after all the water and stuff?
For larger images could i use contact paper?
