Throw pillows are the best. I have them all over my house. They can transform any area to make it feel more cozy. But they can be pretty costly. Today, I’m going to share how to make no-sew pillows from placemats. Say what? Yep, you read that right. Placemats. I despise sewing. Mostly because I've never learned how. So I am constantly looking for projects that don’t require any sewing. And this one only requires 4 supplies!
Gather the supplies listed.
Use the seam ripper to remove the stitching from a small section of the placemat, making a small whole.
Stuff the poly-fill through the hole, making sure it is packed in well so your pillow is nice and fluffy.

My 4 year old helped me with this project and his little hand fit through the hole perfectly to stuff the filling in. I love that my boys like to help momma with projects. Anytime they see me working on something, they are ready to jump in and help. Even if I can’t really use their help on a particular project, I always set them up with a project they can work on. I want them to develop a love of creating like momma. icon
Once you get all of your filling in, place a small line of fabric glue on the seam to seal the fabric back. Hold the fabric together for about a minute to make sure it seals well. You can't even tell that the seem was ever ripped.
You’re done! Seriously. Can you believe how simple that was? With this simple DIY, you can make about 4 pillows for the price of one. I love deals like that! Actually, when I purchased these placemats, my sister was with me and I told her I was going to turn them into pillows. She said, but they already have pillows made in that exact same fabric. Ah, yes they do, but they are $25 and these placemats are $5. This girl is all about decorating on a budget!

As I also never learned to sew,I love this! But isn't it tedious to put the batting in through such a small hole?

Where did you purchase these type of placemats?
