Making a no sew throw pillow from a placemat is so super easy! These no sew pillows only took me about 5 minutes each. Seasonal throw pillows can be quite pricey, this is a great alternative to spending a lot of money for pillows that are only used for a couple of months a year.
First, I picked up these pretty placemats from Ross stores. They came 4 in a pack for $4.99.
I have to make sure its the kind of placemat that has fabric on both sides.
Using a seam ripper, I make about a 3-4 inch opening to be able fit my hand in.
I check to make sure my hand can fit in.
I then stuff the pillow with batting through the hole.
I grab my fabric fuse glue.
I apply the fabric fuse glue in the seam area that I opened.
I then push the seam together to prepare for pinning.
Using pins, I close the glued area with pins and let it dry over night.
Here are my beautiful seasonal throw pillows on my sofa! Super easy and affordable!!Can you image some Easter pillows, Spring pillows, or 4th of July!
The possibilities are endless!

Beautifully done! I love an easy DIY. Noticed studs on the finished pillow. How did you add them?

Not a question , but I just recently did this for my outside chairs I just repainted. Was at my Dollar Tree an saw some placemats an a bell went off how they would match my new old chairs. Was gonna get four for my two chairs for two pillows an I realized it had the two pieces of material. Well I got the two came home removed the tread to separate , took two garbage bags filled them with some store bags filled the placemats( pillows). And used my fusion to seal the small opening. An viola two outdoor waterproof pillows, cost two dollars!!!
