Upcycle an Old Sweater Into Upscale Holiday Decor

I accidentally stained this old cotton cable-knit sweater when i spilled coffee on the shoulder. I knew I couldn't donate it to charity, but i didnt' want to just throw it away. So I decided to upcycle it!
By using the original finished hems and a premade pillow insert, I only had to sew two straight lines.. Nothing complicated, and I ended up with this delightful accent piece you could easily find in a high end decor store or boutique. And to think, it cost me NOTHING and saved the sweater from the landfill!
(additional photos and detailed instructions can be found in the link at the bottom of this post!)
The cotton cable knit sweater pillow.. Inexpensive and easy to make!
Turn the sweater inside out and cut off the top JUST below the neckline. (you are going to use the side seams and bottom finished edges.
Sew along the cut line.. (make sure to leave the sweater inside out)
It looks great! I couldn't be happier with the final result.
