Whimsical Stenciled Skull Pillow #createandshare

Easy
A very special shout-out to Cutting Edge Stencils for sponsoring this post and giving us the opportunity to try out their Paint-a-Pillow kits and giving you lovely readers a chance to be a winner, winner, chicken dinner!
Fifteen of my blogging pals and I were so luck to try out Cutting Edge Stencils, Paint A Pillow kits! I received Skull #3.
It was so much fun receiving this HUGE box and unpacking all of its contents! And I love how everything is so organized!
I also love the essential details included, too, like the paint tray and paint stirrer {I can never find a paint tray or stirrer when I need one!}.
After reading through the directions, I jumped right into stenciling my pillow. One of my favorite things about the Paint-A-Pillow kit is that the pillow case and stencil are attached to the frame, ready to go the minute you open the kit!
What to do next? I tried a couple of different embellishments, but nothing was really adding that extra special touch. I think my creativity decided to take the day off.

IThank goodness for my youngest daughter, The Bean. She jumped in, made a couple of suggestions, and even laid out the ribbon pattern we used in the end. Who says blogging isn’t a family affair?! ;0)
Because I’m not the most accomplished seamstress around, we decided to hot glue the ribbon in place. Plus, we were able to match the lines up more easily using the hot glue rather than having the pillow cover bunched up in a sewing machine.
We added the final details: the purple ribbon which coordinates with my Halloween decor, the rhinestone irises….
That last thing to do was put the cover on the pillow and find a special place for it!
Thanks again to Cutting Edge Stencils!

There are more details on the blog. I'd love for you to click through, and share your recent Halloween DIY experiences! :0)
