Decoupage Book Page Pumpkin

This year I'm switching up my usual fall decor. Rather than buying all new pieces I'm making over what I already have to fit my new decor theme. These decoupage book page pumpkins were so fun and inexpensive to make.

To make these pumpkins you will need mod podge, a foam brush, book pages and of course, faux pumpkins.

Start by ripping your book pages into various sizes. Then, brush a thin layer of mod podge, one section at a time, onto your pumpkin.

Gently press one ripped piece onto your pumpkin at a time and coat it with a thin layer of mod podge.

Continue this process one piece at a time.

If your faux pumpkin is darker in color, you may have some color showing through the pages. The good thing about mod podge is that it dries quickly so you can layer several pieces to get the coverage you desire.

You will continue layering ripped pieces and mod podge until the entire pumpkin is covered.

Once the pumpkin is covered allow it to dry for 20-30 minutes.

I love staging these pumpkins with old, worn books. They'd also be really cute in a classroom or library.

If you wanted a little more color to your book themed pumpkins, I would suggest photocopying a sheet of black font words on to an orange colored plain sheet of paper, then decoupaging.
