Pumpkins from scrap wood is not that far fetched. In fact, I actually found these pieces of wood from my backyard! And with Fall around the corner, I am on a pumpkin craft streak. Of course, extra materials used in this craft are from the Dollar Tree. Most important, I tried to keep this craft extremely budget friendly, spending only $4 total. Without further a due, let’s get into this pumpkin from scrap wood DIY! As always, you can watch the video replay at the link below.

Also, Here’s what you’ll need!

  • Paint and more specifically the colors green, orange, dark brown and white
  • Your wood pieces the three from your yard and the one from dollar tree.
  • Of course, a paint brush
  • Hot glue gun
  • Also, include any extras you’d like to add. I added raffia bows, moss from the trees and a wreath wrap

Firstly, paint all of your wood pieces with the dark brown paint. In addition to this, use a paper towel and dab out some of the color from the wood pieces that will be used for your pumpkins. This technique allows for that washed out appearance, which ultimately allows the other colors to show up.

Secondly, add the colors to the wood pieces. As mentioned before, these colors are the white, green and orange. Then, you’ll want to hot glue the stems on the top, I used sticks and added a bit of moss to it.

Thirdly, go ahead and glue your pumpkins to the large wood piece. I put mine in this order shown in the picture but it is entirely up to you on how you want them.

Finally, you can add on your extras. Like I said, I added raffia bows, wreath wraps and some moss but you can make it your own.

And lastly, put your new pumpkins from scrap wood DIY on display! I can’t wait to see what yours looks like if you choose to remake it. In the meantime, check out the blog for more content like this.
