No-Sew Vintage Fabric Pumpkin
This gorgeous pumpkin can be easily made with no sewing, a little stuffing and some string!
I began with a piece of vintage bark cloth fabric about 12" long by 8" wide. I saved this piece from my grandmother's house many years ago. The fabric had the perfect pattern for the fall.
I folded the fabric in half then ran a bead of glue: Surebonder Fabric Hot Glue down the side opposite the fold, gluing the right sides together
On one of the open ends, I gathered the fabric, folded it together then hot glued it closed.
I right sided the fabric with now just an opening at the top and filled it with Polyfil pillow stuffing. I then gathered the fabric together and glued it closed.
At this time I used a screw tack on the top of the pumpkin and the bottom to gather the fabric inwards. As you screw in the tack it grabs the fill inside and pulls it in.
I wrapped a 2 1/2' length of jute twine around the tack at the top and then the bottom to create the ribs of the pumpkin. I let the extra jute hang on the top as tendrils.
I hot glued a real pumpkin stem to the top of the pumpkin with a faux fall leaf.
This was an easy project that can be done either with this fun fabric hot glue or a quick stitch on the sewing machine. There was really nothing to it and the soft patterned fabric was very forgiving.
