Paper, and Pumpkins, and Glitter, OH MY!

Who’s ready for pumpkin season? I know I am! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. I love the colors, I love the cooler air, and I love the pumpkins…in every shape, form, and color. Unfortunately, here in Northern California, we won’t get the crisp fall air for some time. Every year at this time I go through the same struggle; Halloween, pumpkins, and fall leaves – in 85 degree weather…UGH. Ultimately, my love for all things fall wins, and the pumpkins come out before the temps come down. So it’s time…the pumpkins are coming out this week!
The following post was one of my most popular articles from last year. This was before I was a “self-hosted” and there was a lot less of you out there reading my ramblings (so thanks for being here!). That being said, I thought I would revisit this “oldie but goodie” and inspire you all to get your pumpkins out….now matter what your weather is.
Happy Fall y’all!. These cute little paper pumpkins were a delight to make. Cutting out the basic pumpkin was super easy and quick. This pumpkin was designed by Lori Whitlock and I downloaded it from the Silhouette store for .99 cents.
After quickly cutting out the pumpkin shapes on my Cameo, I glued the pieces together, let them dry, and then the fun began. I love embellishing my projects with lots of details.
It’s like the icing on the cake. As they say, “it’s all in the details”

I wanted to add some soft lines to well….soften up the hard lines of the paper. I decided to go with grey spanish moss. I sprayed it was spray glue and sprinkled it with green glitter. It added just a bit of sparkle without taking too much away from the pumpkins itself.
For the stems, I used a piece of some sort of electrical wire I found on my husband’s “side” of the garage, and it worked out perfectly. I just wrapped it with a strip of burlap using my hot glue gun. Sometimes you just luck out when it comes to these kind of things. :)
What I love about these, is I can Halloween-them-up for the next week or so, and then I can transition them into fall without having to change my whole display. Now I need to go find a home for these little cuties!
