Pumpkin Craft With Yarn

I made this decorative Pumpkin Craft with fall colored yarn. It's an easy project, and great for kids and families!
The pumpkin balls started as balls of tin foil. Just crush the foil in your hands until it makes a ball. I flattened them a bit to look more like a pumpkin shape.
The foil balls were wrapped with variegated fall colored yarn from Micheal's craft store. Yarn ends were secured with a large headed stick pin, but you could also use glue. I cut a wine cork in half to serve as a stem. The stem was secured with another pin as shown in the photos (glue would work too).
For the leaves, I used faux fall maple leaves from the Dollar Store. The leaves were cut into a pumpkin leaf shape (like a heart), leaving the center veins of the leaf showing in the design. The pumpkin shaped leaves were punched with a hole punch and tied on the stem of each pumpkin with twine.
The pumpkins rest in a tray filled with floral moss and lichen. I don't think anyone would guess that they are made from foil and yarn. The entire project took about 15 minutes from start to finish. This would be a fun project for kids and families. More tips and sources for materials on the blog!
