Scrap Wood Pumpkin!

A neighbor recently resided his house and said I could have any scrap wood I wanted. When I saw the shape of this piece of wood I knew it was great for a pumpkin sign!

Here it is after it was sanded down. I kind of like the gray color but, it’s not a pumpkin if there isn’t a little bit of orange somewhere, right!

I took this pumpkin orange color and watered it down a bit and brushed it over the piece. It’s soaked up where it was sanded it down to the bare wood. I loved it!

Then I went to my Cricut Design Space program and found this design. It was already going on a pumpkin so I got rid of it.

Ah, much better for my purpose.

I got a bag of cut branches at the Dollar Tree last year and used one for the stem. I haven’t seen these lately at the Dollar Tree, but you could probably walk outside and grab some thing you liked, or use a wine cork, or anything that strikes your fancy as a stem.

I cut the design out in black matte vinyl.

And here it is on my mantle. I just love how easy and inexpensive this quick project turned out!
