Pumpkins are my favorite part of fall, and I love to decorate with them! I had this idea for awhile, and the design took awhile for me to figure out. But now I have it and I LOVE it! Very easy and done in less than an hour. I hope you enjoy my toilet paper pumpkin!
I kind of thought this idea was a little different. My favorite thing about the design process is that it usually turns out completely different than how you originally imagined!
Gathering the supplies takes a bit longer, but putting it together goes fairly quickly. I began by wrapping and taping the toilet paper rolls in fall colored magazine pages. I used 4 toilet paper rolls and 3 pages. The pages are all different so the pattern of the finished pumpkin has some variety.
Next I completely taped the toilet paper rolls to give it a shiny effect, and then I cut it into 1" pumpkin pieces.
I made them stem out of 4 cork screws. These were wrapped in another piece of fall colored magazine paper and taped to seal. I used some fake flower fall decor to add the centre twigs to finish the stem.
Next I thread a piece of twine through the cardboard cutouts. I made sure it was tight enough to wrap around the corkscrew centre, pulled tight and made a knot.
Next I adjusted the circles to fit nicely around the corkscrews. I finished up by adding some heavy duty jute twine, glueing pine cones and leaves to give it a fall feel. I think this would look great in a centre piece with candles, or as an accent to other decor. I hope you enjoy my whimsical pumpkin!
