Shelves might be a great fix as you can decorate them and rotate the decor or use them for storage. A splashy paint color or some wallpaper would be fun too.
I would put corner shelves and then use the part that sticks out for a nice mirror.
I agree, shelves would be nice and maybe add wall sconces for some lighting.
Shelves on the right and small dresser on the left. A full size mirror on the bump out.
Shelves on the right, you could put easy peel contact paper on the back wall of the shelves. On the left a small dresser or a night stand, the back wall there you could put some art work.

Hang several pieces of artwork on it. Paint it a different color so it stands out as a focal point.
You could hang a curtain and use the space behind it if you don't like the look of the wall. Lean into it and use it as a storage area with shelves on each side.
So paint the wall a accent color get a headboard ,you could even add a thin table behind the bed with a cool lite hanging over bed
Unless you enjoy moving the bed and dusting frequently, I would not advise you to put up open shelving on either side. Due to the lint that bedding naturally emits, these shelves will be a magnet for dust/lint/hair to accumulate.
If you feel you could use storage for items that you do not need to access frequently, such as seasonal clothing, or extra items, then yes, install shelves, but also mount doors (with magnet closures) in front to 'hide' the stuff behind.
To integrate the three areas, I would suggest covering all with the same panelling/board and batten. This will make the wall seem larger and not as chopped up, and will make a more harmonious background for the bed.
Here are some examples:
Another idea is to mount a frame larger than the centre section, filled with wallpaper or fabric. This can then become the headboard in itself, or a background for the headboard that is already attached to the bed.
Here are some examples.
You're welcome.
shelving would be awesome in that area
Hi Alina, you can put custom built shelves there, it would look great, or build a custom head board to fill this space, make it fun and unique! Use large artwork, wall paneling, or a mural to your advantage in rooms with quirky features. "These options can take your eye away from the asymmetry of a space and soften an oddly shaped room. Hope these ideas help.
I love the idea to upholster and frame that area or to just wallpaper it and use it as a headboard if the size is right!
