I always use my fingers to find the end, then slowly pick it at one corner or the other and slowly peel it back usually at an angle. I always fold over the end when completing a wrapping.
I just bend a 1" piece back on itself like a little Tab so it never gets stuck to the roll.
I got a home shopping catalog yesterday and someone has invented a product where you can put the tape in a smaller hand-held dispenser for sealing boxes, etc. It might have been Lowes or Home Depot. Look on line.
I agree with above posts. Use a finger nail to feel for the end. Once you get an end up, fold it back on itself so that next time you will find the end very easily. Best of luck.
You just have to slowly take your fingernails and feel around the road till you find that end piece. It usually does that when the tape starts to get old.
