Concrete/Cement Project question

Karen
by Karen
I have made candle holders using cement. The cement I used I purchased at Michaels. Per the instructions varnishing is optional. I wanted to know if I do want to varnish it, is it ok to use the Kraylon Kamar Acrylic Varnish or will that cause an issue? Does it not matter because the varnish should not be effected when the candle is burned?

Thank you

  • Hey karen, That would work. The issue with painting concrete is that it is very porous and holds moisture deep inside, ruining a paint job. It will peel and bubble. But if your candle holders are for Indoor use only you can use whatever you want
