Either choose two narrower molding designs to make them equal the 2 3/4 inch width, or find a proper lumber yard where you will have more options available to you.
A lot of wide molding is expensive. Sometimes triple the price of narrow moldings. What I have done to save money through the years is take various smaller moldings and stack/layer them on top of each other. Sometimes it takes two or three moldings to get the look and size I was looking for. If using them for other than a wall, I would glue them to a thin backer board or stiff cardboard.
I see you live in Suffolk, VA. Go to http://www.siewers.com/. they are in richmond virginia and they do custom millwork. Great store and more options than you can imagine.
