If you buy a book on Learning to crochet that will tell you all you need to know! If you already have some idea, then choose a pattern and they usually give full instructions how to do the stitches, Best wishes.
The Senior Center in my town has classes for Knitting, Crochet and various Crafts that Seniors enjoy. It is also a great place to meet people with similar interests. Good Luck!
I am partial to Crochet because my Grandmother & Mother Crocheted and Knitted. Using one instrument (a crochet hook) was easier than two (knitting needles), OH yes, JoAnn's or other Craft places that sell Yarn should have lessons available. (once you are 'HOOKED') everyone benefits. :) ENJOY!
