Hi from UK! In the olden days my nanna used to do this with a mix of sugar and boiling water! Soak doily for an hour! Then mould it over an upturned bowl, pressing it down! If you want it fluted just make folds in doily when it's not quite so wet!! Don't know about PVA glue! Possibly instead of sugar! Best wishes
