Hi Amy:
If you are going to write on it, you need special pens, not just markers or ink pens. Here's a site for that:

Happy crafting :)
I've used Washi tape to decorate gifts, add accents to diy book marks and just different and coordinated tapes on the front edges of my pantry shelves for a bit of whimsy. I can't use it on my walls as they are too textured to stick well.
Hi Amy, hope this inspires you. You can do so much with it :)

Goodness, I’ve seen washi tape used on anything it will stick to! Try the search bar at the top left for all sorts of great ideas here on Hometalk.
I used it to make storage area for our kids toys, used old diaper boxes. There are a ton of washi tape projects here too.
If it will stick on a surface then it should be ok, if in doubt use adhesive.
Oh it's so much fun to create with...I love to decorate journals, notebooks and bookmarks with it. I also love the way it looks on glass jars, to make small vases.
I love to use mine to add a quick pop of decor to a journal entry without it being too overbearing!

I love using washi tape for all sorts of DIY projects and crafts! It's so versatile - I've used it to decorate notebooks, gift wrap, and journal pages. It also works great for adding a pop of color and pattern to home decor items and organizing products. As for sticking it to walls, I'd recommend checking Personal Creations reviews to ensure it won't damage the surface. But overall, washi tape is an awesome crafting staple.
Hi Amy: This site shows how to use it if you are just starting out: Japanese Washi Tape: A Beginner's Guide from KonMari by Marie Kondo, but you can use it for just about any craft you are doing that can use a bit of bling :) No, I wouldn't stick it on my walls, but then again, I'm a weenie :) This site will show you a lot of different designs: Cute Washi Tape Shop Japanese Cute Tape MT | cutetape USA I'm partial to the one with cats on it :)
Use special pen to right on it and apply tape to item.
