Would be beautiful...anchor from underneath with screws and carpenters glue, sand, stain, and i used a crystal clear epoxy on mine...same stuff they use for bar tops
Cut your boards to length. If you are doing a kitchen countertop, it should be 24" from front to back. Sand your boards very well to make them completely smooth. Mount them onto your countertops with carpenter's wood glue and screws to hold them in place. For the gaps between boards, you have three options, leave them alone....fill it in with clear silicone if you are going to stain the tops, or fill them in with wood putty if you are going to paint the tops. Once you have filled in the gaps, either stain or paint the tops in the color of your choice. Then, using a good grade butcher block sealant, coat the tops with 2-3 coats of sealant to protect the finish.
many thanks for your help. will let you know when it's done.
