How do I make large circles on wood to use as ornaments?

I cut wooden ornaments for people. Sometimes they are fairly large, (24 -36 inches) Drawing the circle on the wood is a difficult task. I have been using a tack, piece of string and a pencil. At times this is very frustrating. Anyone have an easy solution to making large circles on OSB boards?

Make a template that you can use over and over make them out of sturdy cardboard,or the wood itself they'll last for years if you make them out of wood.

They would not take up too much space if you stored them standing up on end next to each other or even on a rack of some sort under the top of table or under bottom of cabinet.

Drill a hole in the end of a metal measuring tape. Use a small nail to tack the measuring tape to the wood. I assume these ornaments will be painted, so you can use a tiny bit of wood filler when you're done. Wrap masking or blue tape around a pen or pencil to attach it to the body of the tape measure. tap the nail into the center, measure out your distance and use the attached pencil to make your circle. Since the metal tape is stiff, you will get a perfect circle and you can easily adjust the size of the circle for different projects.
