I need to tea dye some white flowers.

Question

They are too white and don't come in cream. How much tea do I use? Can I dye dozens at the same time?Wedding is in 5 months

Regardless of what method you choose, do a test batch first. You do not want to go through the process and end up with 'dirty' looking roses! If these are inexpensive dollar store variety synthetic 'silk' I am not sure how well this would work, but certainly worth a try.

I'm not sure tea will produce cream colored flowers. I think they will turn out light brown. Try spray painting white silk flowers. You might have more control over the final color. Best wishes.

most dyes “ take “ better if the object to be dyed is Cotten. I’d hit them with a floral spray paint.

if you use tea to color them, you will need an agent to permanently set the color. I’d use red zinger tea and put a blush of color on them. I believe it’s a 50/50 mix of water and vinager,,,To set the dye. There is a list out on the net about making natural dyes and their mordants ahem the fixers.
