Markers are more permanent than stamping ink.

A white wash might work after you stamp it. You could control the amount with a wet rag.

You could use paint on your stamp. That would make distressing much easier.

Hello. Is your tile going to be for display like an art piece or for a coaster. I’ve seen some inks use for coasters and exposure to water condensation caused the inks to be removed.

Could you maybe try a magic eraser to distress it slightly?

Hi Mary I would definitely try Iron Orchid Design. They have a plethora of stamps (with the distressed areas already built into the stamps) and have an ink line as well. They often go by IOD so that may help with the search. They do amazing things with their stamps (tile, walls, wood, all kinds of stuff).

The ink will soak in because the surface is pourious so maybe paint would be a better option.

I would go to a store that specializes in card stamping and get their ideas.
