    Pale blues work well with dark brown as would shades of teal or aqua. Maybe get a few paint samples and see which ones "pop" for you. Then you can go from there with your decorating....either walls or upholstered pieces or window coverings. Yellow would work well ito add brightness to a mix of browns and aqua or teal

    I think a light blue or turquoise would be a nice contrast. You can get free paint chip samples and hold them near the dark brown to see what pleases you.

    just about any blue will work. Now, this has worked for me in the past...I’ve gotten tester paint and a large foam core board. Prime, paint your 1st choice on the board...1 big paint chip. Set it in the room you are going to paint see how the different light levels affect the color through the day. If all looks good paint away.
