How can I stiffen crepe paper?
HelloIs there anyway I can stiffen crepe paper leaves?
You can frame them , using a hold color behind them or just between 2 pieces of glass . You can drape them over a plastic wrapped bowl , then coat them with mod podge , let dry and remove from bowl to make a dolie bowl !
I love doilies. There are so many uses too. I have several from a great aunt that she made and my mother had one of them framed...just beautiful! I use them on tables, under lamps and flower arrangements. They can be sown together for a table runner. They also can be used over the back and arms of furniture...just need the proper size. You can Google and find all sorts of crafty items used with them along with other ways to decorate with them. Just enjoy what you have...use them as you can and have fun!
I had many made by my grandmother. Since my children, nieces and nephews did not want them, I thought they might enjoy a pillow with doily tacked to the front. I’ve made several, and I figured this was a nice way to have something from great grandma. They all loved the idea and a more utilitarian decorating idea in these times. I have also taken a very fine one and framed it with a colored backing in a beautiful oval frame that I have hung.
Hi, Here are several ideas I found on Hometalk.
Paper doilies, crocheted doilies, or cloth (linen/lace) handkerchiefs?
