A wood sealer like thomspons.
Try a name brand sealer, to preserve your wood. Check with Homedepot or Lowe's in the lumber department. Find the correct preserver for the type of wood you have.
I use Thompson's Water Seal. Water beads up on it instead of soaking in. You can put it in your sprayer and spray it on.
We have always used Thompson Water Seal and it has been quite effective.
